Listing corrections

If you are a preparer whose credential, address, phone number, or specialties are incorrect, please include your full name, the city and state shown on your current listing, and your PTIN in the email. We verify every correction request against the IRS RPO directory before applying changes.

Removal requests

Preparers may request removal from the directory at any time. We process removals within seven business days of verifying identity. Note that removal from TaxPrepFinder does not affect your underlying IRS RPO entry — the IRS public directory is a separate publication.

For taxpayers

TaxPrepFinder cannot answer tax-law questions, recommend a specific preparer, or mediate disputes between taxpayers and preparers. For recommendations on resolving an IRS notice, contact the IRS directly at 1-800-829-1040 or, if eligible, a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic.
